Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ScriptureVerse at scriptureverse.app ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ScriptureVerse is an interactive Bible visualization platform that provides a graphical interface for exploring scriptural content, an AI-powered teaching companion, and personal journey tracking. The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for personal spiritual study and education.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

4. Subscription Plans and Payment

ScriptureVerse offers the following plans:

• Free — Limited access at no cost
• Explorer ($7.99/month) — Full access to all visualization lenses, unlimited AI Teacher, memory features, and coaching sessions
• Scholar ($14.99/month) — Everything in Explorer plus original language tools, full commentary library, unlimited coaching, and data export

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment processor (Stripe). You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Scrape, crawl, or programmatically access the Service without written permission
• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to circumvent subscription tier limits or rate limiting
• Use the AI Teacher to generate content that is harmful, misleading, or unrelated to biblical study
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

6. AI Teacher Disclaimer

The AI Teacher is powered by artificial intelligence and is designed to assist with biblical study and spiritual exploration. While we strive for accuracy:

• AI-generated responses may contain errors or inaccuracies
• The AI Teacher is not a substitute for professional theological counsel, pastoral guidance, or mental health support
• Responses reflect patterns in training data and may not represent all theological perspectives
• You should verify important theological claims with authoritative sources

7. Intellectual Property

The ScriptureVerse platform, including its design, code, visualizations, and AI systems, is owned by ScriptureVerse. All rights reserved.

Bible text displayed in the Service is from public domain translations (primarily the World English Bible) or is used under license. Cross-reference data is derived from the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (public domain).

Your conversation history, journey data, and personal notes remain yours. You may export this data at any time (Scholar plan).

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data, conversation history, and journey data within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. We will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data when reasonably possible.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScriptureVerse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated Terms, you may close your account.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which ScriptureVerse is incorporated.
