Neo4j stores the graph of relationships between verses, people, places, and themes. pgvector enables semantic search — find passages by meaning, not just exact words. Together, they power every visualization and every AI Teacher response.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”

Six Teaching Modes
Memory & Personalization
The Teacher remembers your name, denomination, spiritual journey, and past conversations. After each session, an extraction pipeline identifies key insights and stores them as searchable memories — so the next conversation picks up where you left off.
Denomination-aware responses mean a Reformed believer and a Catholic receive answers grounded in their own tradition, with respectful notes on where traditions differ.
Guided Devotionals
Devotional mode guides you through a five-phase Lectio Divina practice — an ancient contemplative method of engaging with scripture. Each session can be saved to your Journey.
Present the passage. Set the scene. Read it slowly, reverently.
What word or phrase catches your attention? Sit with it.
How does this passage speak to your life right now?
A prayer prompt that emerges naturally from the text and your reflections.
One concrete, small thing to carry forward today.
The Spiritual Garden
Coach mode tracks your spiritual growth as a garden with seven plants — each representing a dimension of wholeness. Plants grow through stages (Seed, Sprout, Young, Mature, Flourishing) and the garden shifts through seasons. The Coach references your garden naturally — never showing numbers, only living metaphors.
How Your Garden Grows
Your garden isn't decorative — it's alive. Every meaningful interaction with scripture feeds the soil. Here's what makes your plants grow:
- Devotionals — Completing a guided devotional is the most direct way to grow. The Teacher notices which pillars you engaged with and your plants respond.
- Exploration — Studying themes, asking deep questions, spending time with passages. The more deeply you engage, the more it nourishes the relevant pillars.
- Coaching — Working with the Coach, receiving insights, and following through on action items strengthens the pillars they touch.
- Consistency — Showing up regularly matters. A steady rhythm of engagement keeps your garden healthy, even when individual sessions are short.
Growth is gradual and gentle — no overnight leaps. And as your garden flourishes, the environment itself transforms. The sky fills with stars, streams appear, distant trees line the horizon. A garden with all seven plants flourishing becomes something like Eden.
Seasons change too. Spring means active growth. Summer is fullness and stability. Autumn signals a natural slowing down. Winter is rest — not failure, just a quiet season. Every season has its purpose.
Context-Aware Teaching
When you open the Teacher from a visualization, it knows what you're looking at — the active lens, the focused verse or theme — and weaves that context into its responses.
In personal modes (Coach, Companion, Devotional), the Teacher is aware of what's on your screen but won't let it steer the conversation — your spiritual check-in stays focused on you, not the last theme you happened to click.
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord.”
